Good Faith Estimate Notice
Patient Right to a Good Faith Estimate
Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act and the No Surprises Act, healthcare providers are required to provide uninsured, self-pay, or out-of-network patients an estimate of the expected bill for medical items and services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, equipment, and therapy interventions.
Readily available healthcare providers, currently serving Johnson County, Kansas and expanding into surrounding areas soon, must give you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least one (1) business day before your scheduled medical service or item. You can also request a Good Faith Estimate before scheduling any service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you have the legal right to dispute the bill under federal law.
Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate for your records.
